"Luminous Airplanes" by Paul La Farge: I read La Farge's "Haussmann" quite some time ago. This novel promises both to be a time-bending look at San Francisco during the dot.com boom, a small town to which a programmer returns and a romance. The novel comes with a content-rich online component, too. I'm not sure about the online component (when I read for pleasure, I want to be away from my computer), but I'm willing to give it a try.
