This audio book is made possible by . . .

Listening to "A Confederacy of Dunces" on my car stereo, I kept thinking that, when I turned it on, I was listening to Alabama Public Radio. This confusion arose, I realized, because the reader, Barrett Whitener, is the guy who does the underwritten-by voiceovers on NPR, as in "Support for NPR comes from, the Melvin and Dolores Roswell Foundation for the Coverage of UFOs, Swamp Gas and Sad Clowns." This is driving me nuts. Also driving me nuts is the book; Whitener does great voices, but Ignatius Riley's valve getting stuck is getting me stuck. I don't know if I'm going to wade this one out.
